I’ve always wanted to be a writer. When I was in second grade my teacher, Mrs. Clark, sent my creative writing project to the principal. That day I was praised for writing a piece of fiction that was “wise beyond my years.” I had no idea what that meant, but I learned two important things that day: I am good at writing, and I will write a book.
It’s been a long time coming, (I’m 42) but I’ve finally written my first book. In this blog I’ll share ideas, sources of inspiration, and other tidbits related to this work. (If all goes well, of course, I’ll share information about my future works here, too).
Other information about me? I have an MA in English from Northeastern University, where I studied Multi-Cultural American Literature and Composition. I have a BA in English and Philosophy from Boston College.
I maintain a blog about health and fitness meant to inspire a life that is both beautiful and healthy. It is called Body Acumen, LLC. (In my other life I am a Pilates instructor and healthy living coach).
I’ve written for a number of different publications throughout my career: I’ve had my work syndicated on BlogHer, and I’ve written for The Frog and Snail Society, a smart blog about boys. While writing for a site called Suite 101 I won the Writer’s Challenge for Cheap Pilates Programs and Classes and earned the Editor’s Choice award for Smart Approach to Exercise Leads to Weight Loss. While working as a technology consultant (before that nasty dotcom crash) I published pieces in The McGraw Hill Team and Organization Development 2002 Sourcebook, the American Society of Association Executives, and Online Learning News.
